- Day of the week
- Friday
- Days from the invoice date
- 30
How Net terms are counted
“Net 30” means payment is due 30 calendar days after the invoice date, weekends and holidays included. An invoice dated March 1 on Net 30 is due March 31.
If the due date falls on a weekend, many businesses pay on the next working day. The calculator flags weekend due dates so you can plan for that.
Getting paid on time
- Print the due date on the invoice, not just the terms.
- Send the invoice the day the work is done: the clock starts on the invoice date.
- Offer easy ways to pay, and put a QR code on the invoice.
- State any late fee in your terms before you need it.

Frequently asked questions
What does Net 30 mean?
The full amount is due within 30 days of the invoice date. “2/10 Net 30” also offers a 2% discount for paying within 10 days.
Do payment terms count business days?
No. Net terms count calendar days unless your contract says otherwise.
Is “due on receipt” legally different?
It means payment is expected immediately. In practice many customers treat it as a few days, so name a date if timing matters.
